On 31 January and 1 February 2023, the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Montreal Eugene Czolij participated in the Annual Days of Heads of Consular Posts organized by the Government of Quebec in Quebec City and at Bécancour.
At this event, the Minister of International Relations and La Francophonie and Minister Responsible for the Status of Women Martine Biron and members of the Council of Ministers of Quebec, as well as representatives of the Bécancour Industrial and Port Park, presented the priorities of the Government of Quebec and certain major projects.
During the reception with members of the consular corps, the Premier of Quebec François Legault indicated that Quebec must contribute more to the promotion of the Francophonie, be a leader in the decarbonization of the planet, export more Quebec products and recruit more skilled labour internationally.
The Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Montreal Eugene Czolij took this opportunity to thank the Government of Quebec for its support to temporarily displaced Ukrainians in Quebec. He also called on the Government of Quebec to recognize that Russia is a state supporter of terrorism and is committing genocide in Ukraine, as well as to advocate for the international community to provide Ukraine without further delay all the necessary weapons to end Russia’s all-out war against Ukraine and thereby ensure peace, security and stability in the world.
